Halloween 2010

Halloween this year was really fun. Curt and I dressed up for our work Halloween parties. I went as a Dark Angel.

Curt's department at work dressed up as a group. They did Deal or No Deal, with Howie and the suitcase girls. Most of the Finance team is guys, so it was pretty funny.

Curt was one sexy woman! It was so funny to see him dressed up as a girl. I laughed so hard when he was trying to put on the nylons!

We also went and saw the dance production, Thriller with one of my best friends. It was a lot of fun, and we were glad we were able to go and enjoy the holiday.

Birthday Fun

I celebrated my 24th birthday 2 1/2 weeks ago, and am just now getting to posting about it. I had a great day! Curt and I took the day off so we could do our favorite thing, which is hanging out with each other. I woke up to some beautiful flowers and ate an amazing breakfast. Then we went shopping and I got some much needed clothes. Curt's a sweetheart for spending 4 hours with me shopping. Then we went and saw a movie. It was fun to go see a movie in the middle of a weekday. Then we drove down to good 'ol Payson for Oktoberfest. And oh my was the food good! Ever since we left Germany I have been craving some good German food. The homemade Bratwurst was amazing! We are definitely going to try to make it a tradition to go every year. It was a ton of fun. I brought my camera, but we left it in the car. I know, we're smart. So the only pics I have from the day are the ones below.

The next night I went out to dinner with my family, and it was a lot of fun. My parents and Curt surprised me with the amazing gift below.

I was totally surprised when I opened the gift. Thanks Dad, Mom, and Curt for the awesome iPad!

I had a great birthday this year and was glad I got to spend it with the people I love.

September

Where did September go? I can't believe the month is over. It is crazy how fast life goes. As you probably know, I like to post at least once a month so here I am. :)

Unfortunately nothing too exciting has been going on lately with us. Work is pretty much our lives. Curt did get Employee of the Month at his work, which I thought was a lot more exciting than he did. He got a trophy and a special parking spot, but since we only have one car and I need it, he didn't get to enjoy that part.

Work for me has been CRAZY lately. Thankfully my bosses recognized that I was in need of some help, soooo I am going to have an assistant now! I am so excited about it! It has made coming to work a lot better knowing that someone will be there to help me with all the craziness. She is going to officially start helping me next week, so I am looking forward to that. Another thing that is exciting for me at work, is that I have been working on this book project with my bosses. They have written a book and now we are doing the finishing touches and working on getting it published. I love books and anything that has to do with them, so it has been a lot of fun.

Some other exciting news:
- My sister and her family moved to Orem this month! We are so glad they live closer to us.
- Curt's sister Kailey moved to Orem to go to UVU! We have enjoyed having her come over and hang out with us, even though we are an old boring married couple.
- Another Biggest Loser season started!
- This weekend is General Conference!
- Fall Cleaning is this weekend too!

On a random side note. Two weeks ago Curt and I held a black lab puppy that looked exactly like the one below. So cute!!! We seriously almost bought him. I couldn't stop thinking about the little guy. Honestly, I haven't stopped thinking about the puppy and trying to think of how we could get one. If only we had a place to put him. :( Look at those puppy dog eyes!!

Anyway, hopefully October will be more exciting. I think it might be someone's birthday soon...

Real Salt Lake Game

So, we went straight from Bear Lake to the Real Salt Lake vs Columbus Crew game. Curt's work took the whole finance department out for dinner and the game. It was cool eating dinner at the stadium and watching the game, especially since it was free! We won 2-0 too, so it made the night even better!

Oh, and my camera died right after I took one picture of the players on the field. I was just taking tester shots to see if I needed to change the settings. I am glad that I at least got one picture though. :)

We really enjoy soccer and are glad it is something we like to do together.

Bear Lake #2

Last weekend we went to Bear Lake again and enjoyed being with both of our families. Curt's family was very nice to let my family join in the Bear Lake fun this year.

After Curt went skiing, our nephew Wade said he wanted to get out behind the boat. We jumped at the chance before he changed his mind. Below is Wade and Curt after they got done knee-boarding. It was so cute to watch.

Curt and my brother Gordy decided they wanted to go on the tubes. The water was pretty wild and it was very entertaining to watch.

Me and my nephew Beckam on the boat. The life jacket was way too big for him, but he still looks cute.

Then my two nephews, Wade and Lyndon, wanted their turn on the tubes. They both had a really good time.

It was a really fun trip, but way too short. We are sad that the summer is coming to an end. Hopefully we will get to go to Bear Lake one more time this year before it starts getting cold. It's sad how fast summer goes by.

13.1

Yep, I ran a half marathon on Saturday, 13.1 miles. Am I crazy? Maybe. Here is my story: I ran a 10K and loved it, so thought why not do a half marathon. I signed up for it and had 5 weeks to train. The first week of training went well and at that point I had run as far as 8 miles. The second week I was sick, but thought well I still have 3 weeks, I can do it. The third week I was also sick. And you guessed it, the fourth and fifth week I was sick too. During this time I was all bummed out, knowing that my race was getting closer and closer. Two days before my race I was feeling good. I talked to Curt about what I should do and if I should run on Saturday or not. We decided that I should do it, even if I have to walk. Plus I paid $40 to do it! Never mind that I hadn't ran for 4 weeks and had never run farther than 8 miles, I was going to do what I paid to do. So I woke up on Saturday and ran 13.1 miles.

The pic below is blurry, I guess I was just running too fast for the camera. j/k :) It felt so good to see Curt close to the finish line. Seeing him gave me a little boost at the end.

Me with my prize...watermelon...yum!

I am so glad I ran this race. It was fun, yep you heard me, fun. It felt so good to finish and accomplish something like that. I was so proud of myself for being able to run the whole time and getting a better time than I wanted, even better than the time I had planned on getting with training. Sorry if I am bragging, but man was I excited! To come around that corner knowing I had run 13.1 miles and to see the time clock a lot lower than I thought was a pretty good feeling.

Also, another shout out to my wonderful husband. Thank you so much for supporting me in doing this, for waking up at 4am on a Saturday, driving me to my race, and waiting for me to finish. I love you Curt!

Bear Lake 2010

Last week was our annual Bear Lake trip with Curt's side of the family. It was fun to get together as a family and spend some time on the water. Bear Lake is gorgeous! Cold, but gorgeous. Curt and I were glad that we were able to go and get some water sport action in for the summer.

One of the highlights of the Bear Lake trip is Family Night. Each family does a little activity and shares a spiritual thought. Then we take pictures of each fam. Below is ours. I seriously LOVE these peeps!
