Happy Birthday Curt!

Today is Curt's birthday and he is now 27 years old. Usually I like to go all out on birthdays, but again, with Baby Hommes on the way things are already changing.

Every year Curt asks me not to do anything big and for the first time I listened to him. So I finally gave him the gift he has been wanting the last 6 years. :)

We decided to celebrate his birthday on Saturday since we both work. I thought that we could at least go shopping and get him a few things, but after going to several stores he couldn't find anything he liked or wanted. Finally, he asked if we could just get him a box of See's chocolate, so that's what he got. (An upside to that is I get to enjoy in that gift as well :) ). After shopping we went out to eat at California Pizza Kitchen and enjoyed a good meal there. I tried asking him what else we could go do or get him, but he was set on not doing anything else. Though he did request raspberries and cream for tonight, and this morning I did stop and get him some breakfast at Einstein Bagels. So pretty much he has only gotten food as his presents. I don't think he minded though.

Happy Birthday Curt! I love you!

5 Years

This month we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I don't know where the time has gone, but it has been an amazing 5 years together. We usually do a big trip to celebrate our anniversary, but with Baby Hommes on the way it just wasn't in the plans to fly half way around the world. So this year we did a mini vacation and headed down to Las Vegas.

We went and saw David Copperfield and it was a lot of fun. Curt got to be a part of the show, and he was pretty excited about it.

We also went and saw The Lion King. It was soooo good! The music and costumes were amazing.

We did a lot of shopping for our baby boy while we were down there. I was going to post a picture of all the clothes we bought for him, but it's kind of embarrassing. Curt and I already love spoiling him, which is not a good sign since he is not even born yet. Oh, well!

We also went to an all you can eat seafood buffet at The Rio. Curt loves seafood, so I wanted to make sure we went somewhere fun to eat on the night of our anniversary. He prepped me before we went that he would eat a lot, but I don't know if I fully understood what was about to happen. Six plates later, I knew we had gotten our moneys worth. Four of those six plates were filled high with crab legs. Even the people at the next table over from us made a comment when he came back with his 5th plate which was full of crab. I was glad that he enjoyed it so much though.

We had a great trip. It was nice to get away and enjoy spending time together.

Exciting Week

Here is another pregnancy pic of me at 20 weeks. We finally had our first ultrasound and it was amazing! I was in heaven watching our baby on the screen. It was moving all over the place, yawning, putting its hands in its mouth, and playing with the umbilical cord. The ultrasound tech said our baby had quite a personality. It was a great experience and we are so excited!

Oh, and I am assuming you want to know the gender. Well, I think the picture below say it all. :)

It's a boy!

Oh Baby

It's true! Baby Hommes is on it's way.

I am 4 months along (even though I look farther along than that). Our baby is due September 30th and we are so excited!

Also, last weekend we got together with my family. My mom is pretty excited about my baby bump and wanted to take lots of pictures, but I tried to limit them.

RSL Soccer Game

On Saturday we went to the Real Salt Lake vs LA Galaxy game. It was a lot of fun. Cold, but fun. RSL scored within the first 2 minutes and it was 3-0 by halftime. It was an exciting game and it's always nice to win, which we did 4-1. We just had Curt's iphone so the pics didn't come out very good, but here is the best one. We hope to go to more RSL games this season.

No News Is Good News

Since I haven't done a post this year, I thought it was about time. I just kept waiting for something to happen that I could blog about, but no such luck. Curt and I live pretty boring lives, which really we think is a blessing.

Valentine's Day was a good one this year. Curt took me out to dinner at my favorite place to eat, California Pizza Kitchen. They have the best salad ever there. We also get to share an apple crisp which I love, especially since it has no gluten in it :). Then we bought a movie and went home and had a fun movie night. I love spending time with my Valentine.

I have been trying to think of things to update you about, but nothing is coming to mind. But hey, at least I did a post, right?

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year was great. I always love decorating the house. I got new decorations for my tree, and was so excited.

Christmas morning Curt was awake bright and early. We started opening our gifts at 6am.

This was the damage done.

We were lucky to be able to spend Christmas day with both families. We spent the first part of the day with Curt's family, and then spent the rest of the day with my family. We had an amazing meal at my parents house. My mom went all out on the food.

Curt was excited to eat. :)

I wanted to take pictures with all our nephews and niece. Maddy wasn't feeling up to pictures, so we just took one with all the boys. It was a struggle, but at least we got this picture.

I wanted to make sure I took some pictures on Christmas, because I usually don't. I wanted to get a picture of each couple in my family.

My Dad and Mom

Gordy and Destiny

Todd and Chell

Another fun thing we did this month was we made gingerbread houses. Chell's in-laws are nice enough to let Curt and I come over and make gingerbread houses every year. Curt and I were pretty proud of our creations.

My gingerbread house.

This is a close up of my snowman. He is made of marshmellows, has a hershey kiss top for a hat, and a thin paper scarf.

Curt's gingerbread house. (Notice the candy cane waterfall).

All of us with our masterpieces.

December was a great month. We also went to A Christmas Carol at Hale Theater and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. We had some fun family parties as well. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
