Breaking the Bank

Meet our piggy bank. When Curt was on his mission, a member gave him this piggy bank to save money in so he could go back to Germany. We had been saving and saving, and I couldn't believe the time had come.

We were finally able to break our piggy bank!

Why did we break it? Well, it didn't have one of those holes where you can just take out the money. I guess in Germany they don't make them like that. Plus Curt was really excited to have us break it and accomplish our goal. It was really fun!

Tomorrow we're leavin' on a jet plane! Auf Wiedersehen!

Cute Little Couple

When I went looking for the picture of Curt in his lederhosen (see the post below), I ended up finding these two cuties. I think these pictures say it all.

Happy Birthday JT!

Today is my little brother's birthday, and he is turning 6 years old! When did he all of the sudden grow up?! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. JT sure has added a little something to our family. He is so funny and extremely smart. He just got some pictures taken of him and the one below is one of my favorites. He is going to be quite the ladies man, especially since it is already starting at his school. :) Happy Birthday JT! Love you!

Countdown Continues

We are down to 4 weeks until we go to Germany. I am getting more excited everyday! I am already stressing out about packing and what I am going to bring. I have never gone on a trip this long and feel like I have to bring my whole closet with me. I am itching to start packing but Curt thinks its a little too soon. :) I do think I can start making a list though!

I thought it would be fun to share this cute picture of Curt in his Lederhosen. Maybe we can pick him up another pair while we are in Germany. :)

Exciting Weekend

I am so excited for this weekend!!! First, it is General Conference and I thoroughly enjoy it. I like making really good breakfasts on Conference weekend. Second, I am going to do Spring Cleaning. I have already made my checklist and have it well organized, if I do say so myself. Curt thinks I am a little too excited for spring cleaning, but I can't help it. After Curt saw my checklist he said, "That is the most organized chore list I have ever seen. That is why I love you." I love him and am glad we both love being organized.

8 Weeks!

8 weeks, 55 days, 10 hours, and 37 minutes until May 6th. Why is this date so important to me? I will tell you. On May 6th I am going to wake up and get on an airplane and fly to...

GERMANY!!!

Yes, it is true! For our 4 year anniversary we are going to Germany. I have wanted to go there since 8th grade and now 10 years later, I am finally going! Why Germany? Well, I started taking German in 8th grade and took classes on and off until my sophomore year in college. Curt and I met at a German Christmas Party at UVU and if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be married to the love of my life. For some weird reason, I have always been sort of drawn towards the German language, and I believe it was because I was meant to meet my husband. I don't even have any German ancestors or any German in me what so ever. My husband on the other hand has had the German culture in his life since he was born and is half German. His grandparents on his dad's side were both German and came over to America with their 4 young boys, lederhosen and all. He grew up with grandparents who spoke half German/half English to him and a grandma who cooked amazing German meals. Then he got called to serve in the Berlin Germany mission and fell even more in love with the food and culture. It has been 5 years since he came home from his mission and he is so excited to go back. He can't stop talking about the food haha!

We are going for 2 weeks and will be on a tour. We are travleing all around Germany and it is going to be amazing! The picture below shows our tour.

I am counting down the days until we can finally go. We have wanted to go to Germany our whole marriage, and I feel so blessed that we are now able to go. I am trying to get Curt to speak to me in German more, so I can get ready and brush up on my German skills. I can't wait to sprechen die Duetsch!

February

I realized that I didn't post anything this month and felt that I should at least have one post a month. I know, I am weird like that. February has been a good month, but nothing too exciting. We have both just been working a lot. Curt is enjoying not having school. I have been reading lots of books. This last week we decided to wake up an hour and half earlier to workout and read our scriptures before we go to work. We did it for a whole week, so we will see how long we can keep it up. We have also been throwing around the idea of getting a puppy. We have been trying to figure out what kind of dog we would want to get. We don't have a yard, so we need to get a small dog, but we like the big dogs. Such a hard decision. Plus puppies are a lot of work. We don't know if we are ready for the commitment. Any suggestions on what kind of dog we should look at maybe purchasing?
