So, we went straight from Bear Lake to the Real Salt Lake vs Columbus Crew game. Curt's work took the whole finance department out for dinner and the game. It was cool eating dinner at the stadium and watching the game, especially since it was free! We won 2-0 too, so it made the night even better!

Oh, and my camera died right after I took one picture of the players on the field. I was just taking tester shots to see if I needed to change the settings. I am glad that I at least got one picture though. :)
We really enjoy soccer and are glad it is something we like to do together.

Bear Lake #2
Last weekend we went to Bear Lake again and enjoyed being with both of our families. Curt's family was very nice to let my family join in the Bear Lake fun this year.

After Curt went skiing, our nephew Wade said he wanted to get out behind the boat. We jumped at the chance before he changed his mind. Below is Wade and Curt after they got done knee-boarding. It was so cute to watch.
Curt and my brother Gordy decided they wanted to go on the tubes. The water was pretty wild and it was very entertaining to watch.
Me and my nephew Beckam on the boat. The life jacket was way too big for him, but he still looks cute.
Then my two nephews, Wade and Lyndon, wanted their turn on the tubes. They both had a really good time.
It was a really fun trip, but way too short. We are sad that the summer is coming to an end. Hopefully we will get to go to Bear Lake one more time this year before it starts getting cold. It's sad how fast summer goes by.

13.1
Yep, I ran a half marathon on Saturday, 13.1 miles. Am I crazy? Maybe. Here is my story: I ran a 10K and loved it, so thought why not do a half marathon. I signed up for it and had 5 weeks to train. The first week of training went well and at that point I had run as far as 8 miles. The second week I was sick, but thought well I still have 3 weeks, I can do it. The third week I was also sick. And you guessed it, the fourth and fifth week I was sick too. During this time I was all bummed out, knowing that my race was getting closer and closer. Two days before my race I was feeling good. I talked to Curt about what I should do and if I should run on Saturday or not. We decided that I should do it, even if I have to walk. Plus I paid $40 to do it! Never mind that I hadn't ran for 4 weeks and had never run farther than 8 miles, I was going to do what I paid to do. So I woke up on Saturday and ran 13.1 miles.
The pic below is blurry, I guess I was just running too fast for the camera. j/k :) It felt so good to see Curt close to the finish line. Seeing him gave me a little boost at the end.
Me with my prize...watermelon...yum!
I am so glad I ran this race. It was fun, yep you heard me, fun. It felt so good to finish and accomplish something like that. I was so proud of myself for being able to run the whole time and getting a better time than I wanted, even better than the time I had planned on getting with training. Sorry if I am bragging, but man was I excited! To come around that corner knowing I had run 13.1 miles and to see the time clock a lot lower than I thought was a pretty good feeling.
Also, another shout out to my wonderful husband. Thank you so much for supporting me in doing this, for waking up at 4am on a Saturday, driving me to my race, and waiting for me to finish. I love you Curt!

California Weekend
Last weekend we drove down to California to go to my cousin Annie's wedding. Annie and Jason decided to get married in the Newport Beach Temple. Curt and I were really glad we were able to go. It was nice to see the family and celebrate such an exciting event. We took lots of pictures as we waited for the wedding. It was fun taking pictures with the fam.

Weekend Getaway
Last weekend we went to Las Vegas and Zions. We wanted to do something fun for Curt's birthday and also spend time with his family. So, we all packed up and went on a road trip.
Our first stop was Hoover Dam. It took us a lot longer than expected to get there due to traffic, so when we got there we just had to take a couple pictures and then go back to Vegas for our show. Even though we were only there for a short time, I was really glad we went. It was extremely windy, as you can probably tell from my crazy hair.
Next stop was our hotel. I know if I don't mention our amazing hotel, my father-in-law would never let me live it down :). He did a great job finding us a super nice place to stay and we all just wanted to stay there the rest of the trip. It was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and 2 kitchens, etc. I didn't get to take any pictures, but hopefully we can stay there again next time we go to Vegas.
Then we got ready and headed out to go see Phantom of the Opera. Me, Curt, and Kailey had already seen it once, but we were more than willing to go see it again. It was really fun seeing it with Curt's parents who hadn't seen it before. The show was just as good as the first time. If you haven't seen it yet, put it on your to do list.
The next day we stopped in Zions and went on a really pretty hike to the emerald pools. I really enjoyed taking pictures there, everything was so beautiful. I took lots of pictures, but here are just a few.

We all had a lot of fun, and I was really glad Curt and I were able to go. We just wished the trip was longer and that Jake and Jen could have joined us.
